UDIA/PIA POS forum

Given the challenges surrounding future allocation, management and design of POS in a water constrained regulatory system, this forum will enable you to explore these issues with these two leading planning and development organisations.

On DAY ONE (12th June), decisions relating to POS planning within residential developments in WA based on the historical allocation of 10% of subdivisible land for public use will be explored. Are these prescriptive land percentages with old development assumptions as a basis of POS allocation meeting the current and future needs of the population?

On DAY TWO (19th June), future falling water allocations for POS  (6,750 kl/pa/hectare potentially down to 5,000 kl/pa/hectare in some areas) will be considered. Specifically:

  • What is the Local Authority looking for and how will it be administered
  • How is the Department of Water liaising with key stakeholders?
  • How are developers addressing the challenges?
  • What are the alternative water sources and will they become economically viable in the future?
  • What has the Water Corporation been doing in this space?
  • What are the consequences for future residents?

The forum will be held at a the Parmelia Hilton hotel, 14 Mill St Perth. The two sessions will be held on Wednesday 12th June and Wednesday 19th June from 7.30 am – 12.30 pm (registration at 7.15 am).

Participants can register to attend either the Day One or Day Two sessions, or both for a discounted rate.

The registration form and further information can be downloaded HERE. Registrations close Friday 7th June and numbers are limited! See you there!
