New WAter Ways Bus Tour – WSUD in the City

Perth Stadium is the home of many of Western Australia’s hopes (Fremantle), dreams (Scorchers), failures (Glory) and successes (West Coast). What probably isn’t apparent to the 60,000 that regularly flock to the stadium is the water sensitive urban design around them. Have you noticed them?

If you’re keen to understand these features jump aboard the New WAter Ways’ WSUD in the City bus tour on Tuesday 25th of June. The bus will depart from Leederville at 9am, starting with recently finish sites in the CBD that demonstrate the innovative designs:
- Capital Square (6 Star Green Star Office v3 As Built rating);
- Verdant Apartments (3 storey green wall); and,
- Workzone (5 Star Green Star Office v3 As Built rating.
The bus will then continue on to East Perth, with the tour proceeding on foot along Claisebrook Drain to the Swan River. The East Perth Redevelopment (in the early 1990s) brought water back to the community with construction of the inlet, lake and artificial stream. It also creatively hides some larger water infrastructure in the village.

The tour will finish at the stadium via the Matagarup bridge, returning to Leederville by 12.30pm.
