The next New Water Ways event in the Water Sensitive Cities Speaker Series will be a presentation by Christopher Beaton, Environment Manager, City of Cockburn. Chris will be speaking about the programs the City has in place to address the poor water quality, algal blooms and nuisance midges at the severely nutrient enriched Yangebup Lake. The most recent initiative is a trial to use solar power to pump water from the lake through a nutrient stripping basin with the aim of returning better quality water to the lake and enhancing the ecosystem. This event is free and no RSVP is required.
